Pianist Daniel Glessner maintains an active schedule as both a teacher and a performer.  Daniel's solo performances include recitals at the Wildflower Music Festival in White Mills, Pennsylvania, the Patriot-News Artsfest of Greater Harrisburg in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and St. Lawrence Chapel, also in Harrisburg. He has also given solo recitals at Penn State University and Messiah College.

Also an avid collaborator, Daniel, along with violinist Gregory Glessner and cellist Tetyana Pyatovolenko, founded the DSCH Trio in the spring of 2014. The Trio takes its name from the musical monogram of twentieth-century composer Dmitri Shostakovich, whose music is admired by all three players. The Trio's inaugural performances were greeted enthusiastically, with the audience admiring the maturity of the Trio's interpretations.

Daniel has accompanied numerous student recitals at both Penn State University and Messiah College, as well as recitals in the Harrisburg area. Other collaborative engagements include serving as pianist for the Penn State Opera Theatre’s productions of Menotti’s The Consul (2011), Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi (2011), COSÌ! (a condensed workshop version of Mozart’s Così fan Tutte, 2012), and the Penn State College of Arts and Architecture's 2013 production of Bernstein's MASS: A Theatre Piece for Singers, Players, and Dancers (a joint production of the School of Music, School of Theatre, and Center for the Performing Arts). He has also served as pianist for the Messiah College Opera Workshop. More recently, Daniel served as rehearsal pianist and orchestra conductor for the West Shore Christian Academy (Shiremanstown, PA) 2014 spring musical production of Simon and Norman's THE SECRET GARDEN.

Daniel has also served as harpsichordist for the West Shore Symphony Orchestra (Carlisle, PA) performance of J.S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto no. 6 (March 2014), and as keyboardist for the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, Penn State Philharmonic Orchestra, the Nittany Valley Symphony (State College, PA), and the Messiah College Symphony Orchestra.

Daniel was the winner of the 2007 Keith Lance Kuhlman Performance Competition at Messiah College, was awarded a performance on the 2011 Penn State School of Music Graduate Recognition Recital, and received Honorable Mention in the 2012 Penn State School of Music Concerto Competition.  He also won the Young Artist Piano division at the Music Teachers National Association Pennsylvania state competition in 2012.

Daniel received a Master of Music degree in piano performance in May 2012, and a Professional Performance Certificate in May 2013, from Penn State University, where he studied with Steven Herbert Smith, and served as a graduate assistant. Daniel also graduated summa cum laude from Messiah College in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music. While at Messiah, he studied piano with Ya-Ting Chang, and composition with Dr. Richard Roberson, Dr. Dwight Thomas, and Bruce Yurko.

Also a composer, Daniel has had his compositions performed at several venues in the Harrisburg area, and was a recipient of the Joseph L. and Vivian E. Steele Music Scholarship in 2006-2010 for his compositions. In addition, his Piano Trio #4 (2009) was performed by the Mendelssohn Piano Trio as part of the Steinway Series at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, DC in May 2010.

In addition to his performance schedule, Daniel serves as organist and choir director at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (Enola, PA), and offers private piano lessons at his home studio in Mechanicsburg, PA.
